An interesting perspective on a terrible time in history. I wouldn't recommend reading it before bed though, I did and couldn't sleep. Too many thoughts running through my head.

I suppose a reader could really pick apart this little novel/fable on the Holocaust with its extremely naive protagonist, historical inaccuracies, and unbelievable plot. But I still loved it. I've read a lot about the Third Reich and their evil deeds and I found this to be quite a fresh and different point of view. It certainly shouldn't replace the typical Holocaust literature, but I think the book is an excellent addition to the genre.

Really made you think about the time period from a different perspective. The writing however left a lot to be desired, even as children's lit it seemed to be very disjointed and confused.

As most people that know me realize, I often forget the books I read, but this is one I'll never forget. It is truly a haunting book.
