A wife disappears under suspicious circumstances and her husband, of course, is seen as the person of interest in the case. Nothing is quite as it seems in this intriguing plot. The story is told from the point of view of both the husband and the wife.

Well, I really did like this one, but I found the ending extremely disappointing.
It was quite suspenseful and the characters were very well written in the sense that one minute I loved them and wanted them to win and the next minute I hated them and wanted them to pay. I didn't find the ending very plausible though, compared to the rest of it, and after really, really enjoying it all play out, the end left me feeling disappointed and deflated like ppffft. ...more

This book has had a lot of hype, so of course I felt the need to read it immediately. It was not as good as I was expecting based on the reviews. There really isn't a lot I can say, because it would give too much of the book away. It was cleverly written, but I really did not like the way it ended.

Only real negative to this was the foul language. It wouldn't have bothered me in print form, but we listened to the audio book in the car while my baby napped and it took away from it.

I thought the first 3/4 of the book was terrific, full of twists and quite a page turner. The ending didn't hold up but it's still a fun (if that's the word, the people involved are pretty unlikable) summer read.
