I'm having a really hard time trying to decide how to rate this one. The style of writing drives me nuts. I'd read a paragraph and realize I had no idea who was talking, what had just happened, or what it meant. I've had the same problem with the staccato style of other books from the same era. I listened to this as an audiobook with Tim Robbins as the narrator. Win!
I somehow missed this classic and found it to be brilliant. The writing is tight and compelling. I love dystopian lit and this one sets the standard for the genre. It's a bit scary as there are parallels to this society and ours today. Guy Montag's job as a fireman involves setting fires rather than putting them out.
