Oh, these books. I tried so hard to resist jumping on the bandwagon, but I failed. I ended up reading all three books in a week, losing respect for myself along the way.
First of all, as fan-fiction, they're fine and I make is a habit not to criticize fan-fiction no matter how badly written (and I've read some baaaaaaad fan-fic!). However, the author has chosen to make money off of this, so she opens herself to criticism.

Read this book after hearing it is likely to be a new series on HBO. I REALLY enjoyed the love story/connection between Ana and Christian. Despite this, some of the scenes seemed to teeter on inappropriate and made me wonder why Ana had a hard time drawing a hard line on all that business (she has low self esteem?) Christian's coping mechanism could have been ANYTHING else and the reader still would understand how impacted he is because of his former abuse. In my opinion, the story still woulda

I had to see what all the hubbub was about. The book does not profess to be great literature, but for what it is, it's a fun ride. I subtracted one star for all the eye-rolling moments.

Gross. And not because its s and m, foreplay, mommy pornography. Gross that I wasted a minute of my time reading an author who can't write.
