Amazing. Words cannot describe how much I loved this book. I've never read something so long so quickly.

Death narrates The Book Thief, as written by the Book Thief herself, Liesel, a book she writes in her basement at the age of fourteen, following a life bookmarked with stealing books that become significant stages in her life, in Nazi Germany.

This makes me feel weird rating this a 3. I guess it's like a 3.5. This book wasn't bad. The writing was great and the story was interesting but if I wouldn't have switched to the audiobook I wouldn't have finished this book. The story moved really slow, and almost 100 pages into it I still wasn't hooked on finishing it. The audiobook made it easier to get through this, but for the most part the emotional attachment that a lot of people talk about still wasn't there for me. I enjoyed it, but I w ...more
