I couldn't finish this book in this format because it was so disappointing to me. If you're going to read Yes Please, do yourslf a favor and listen to the audiobook.

I listened to the audiobook, and I can't recommend that enough! The audio book features portions read by Patrick Stewart, Carol Burnett, and Seth Meyer. It has audio excerpts of sketches and performances and readings.
The book is less of a single narrative and more of a collection of essays ranging from topics from Amy's early life to her early work at 2nd City in Chicago to SNL and beyond. She also has essays where she discusses her feelings on technology and raising her boys.

This book really blew my socks off. It fell into my lap just as I needed it. I was really impressed with Amy Poehler's voice and her subject matter. This book wasn't just a memoir, it was a self help book, it was a comedy book, it was inspirational without being preachy. I could have done without the self deprecating preface, but the whole book was a work of genius. I hope she pits out a second one.
