I would rate this book 10 stars if I could. This is a short book and I think I cried for at least 50% of it. Tears of sadness, pain, joy and hope. It's a rare book that makes you laugh and cry at the same time which makes it so unique. I was hesitant to read, because of rumblings about bad and/or inappropriate language. This... this book. It has important messages. I think it does a good job bringing up and discussing some issues when it comes to native Americans BUT I for the life of me get over the use of the words retard and faggot as insults. I get it's a representation of a 14 year old boy and the environment he lives in.
