3.5 rounded down; not the worst Austen I've read so far. Emma is a jerk, I mean, unlikeable character. Did you know the movie Clueless is an adaptation of Emma? That made me like this one a little bit more! I did find some of the writing amusing and witty.

Reread for Senior College Lit course
Entertaining with adept character development.
3.5 stars
A fun reread. I think Jane Austen was ahead of her time with her social climbing, breaking gender stereotype characters and English village life. I need to watch the movie to see how the story has been adapted.

After reading the original for book club, and watching Clueless, I thought I would read the manga. I really liked this version!
