"Eh..." That's the exact word I used to describe this book to my boyfriend. This series has progressively gotten worse, mostly because it is so drawn out. This book was so random. Nothing was solved**. To be honest, she could have ended the series with her first book. Evermore was amazing, and that's the the reason why I still continue with the series, just hoping that one of them will be as good as the first. But I feel like this book - and some of the others - could have More like 2.5-3 stars.

Evermore was amazing, and that's the the reason why I still continue with the series, just hoping that one of them will be as good as the first. But I feel like this book - and some of the others - could have easily been cut down and made into one. It makes me angry when authors drag out their series, just to make more money (seemingly anyway) and that's how I feel with this series.

It wasn't all bad, of course. Ever learned how to not focus on the negative and just accept and love people for who they are. It took her the whole book to learn, but nonetheless it still happened. And with all the crystals and what they can do being mentioned, I am now buying some of my own. I hope they can do some of what the websites say they can, so thanks Noel for showing me that world.

As I said, this book was pretty much pointless and nothing was solved between Ever and Damen and the antidote, along with the issue of Jude (although to be honest, he's not trying as hard as I was expecting). I put the ** there because technically the problem of Roman was solved as Jude ended up punching him in his weakest shakra and killing him. And just as Roman was about to give Ever the antidote that would let her and Damen be able to touch each other again... and just after Jude told her basically how he felt about her... Coincidence, I think not! Anyways, as I said earlier, it always pisses me off when authors seem to be writing 300-page-long books that prove nothing in the grand scheme of the novel.

One thing that bothered me was how confused I was in the beginning. There was no recap, as I was expecting, and so I was a little lost for the first like 50 pages because I couldn't remember exactly everything that had happened so far. Just a little overview once and a while would have been nice.

Holy cow was Ever stupid in this one! I was SO tempted to bang my head against the wall and I rolled my eyes more than I ever have. Damen and Ever were practically at Edward and Bella status (yes, a Twilight reference. I noticed it in one of the reviews that I looked at before I read the book, and after reading it I can see why they would make that comparison.), and I don't mean that in a good way. Ever made some horrible and stupid decisions, just as Bella often did throughout that series. Damen apparently has unconditional love for Ever (like Edward), but after seeing how she didn't trust him or tell him anything (and told Jude instead, his mortal/immortal enemy), I would have at least needed some time to collect myself. I mean, jesus, the first thing he said after seeing all that she had done was that it didn't change the way he thought of her. That's just ridiculous. And Ever just made it worse for herself over and over... and over again.

Now, as per the lesson of this novel, I will write down what was positive about this one...

Well, as I said, Roman's out of the way, and so that nasty beast that apparently roared up inside of her is silenced, for a little while at least. Of course, the only antidote was destroyed along with him. Wait... must stay positive... Okay, so I'm glad Ava turned out not to be a bad guy. Of course, Ever made her out to be the bad guy and jumped to conclusions... again... (deep breath, thinking positively)... I'm relieved that Ever finally realized that she has all eternity to figure out this not-being-able-to-touch thing with Damen. And that true, unconditional love doesn't need to be physcial. Heck, the guy's waited 400 years to be with you and has been pretty much abstinent the whole time so I think you can wait just a little longer to try and figure it out rationally. I also was more intrigued by the Shadowland this time, wanting to know more about its dark side... Ok, I can't think positively about this one anymore!

So, I'm going to continue this series, hoping it will get better but assuming it won't. It's just that Ever used to be one of my favorite YA heroines when Evermore first came out, but now she has seriously back-tracked in my book. But such is life. ...more
