The similarities to Beauty and the Beast were very subtle. Had I not read the blurb before hand, I probably never would have connected the two. I haven't seen any other reviewers mention this, so maybe I'm crazy, but I thought there were also some similarities to Rumpelstiltskin. Add in some Greek Mythology and you have something entirely unique. This was a very different kind of romance. It was tender at times, but it was also dark and twisted, and I liked it

Beauty and the Beast has always been one of my favorite Disney cartoons, but sadly, I have never taken the time to read the original fairy tale. I should remedy that, but in the mean time, I do enjoy reading novels that have a little Beauty and the Beast inspiration flowing through them.
