Night I finished: Wow... It's late so I'm not much for words but just so amazing and beautiful... I cried...

Now: Still wow. I can't get this book out of my head. But it's funny because, even though I honestly loved this book, I don't think I could read it again. It's sort of like, the first time you get the gist. You go through all this angst of so many different varieties and it all turns out to be nearly for nothing. I mean, it's not like she'd be writing this letter to him if they were still alone in the Australian desert after all this time.

This is one of those times where you wish you WEREN'T the heroine of the story. No one wants to be kidnapped, even if it is supposedly for "love" or that he was trying to save her from turning into her parents. It was weird to find out how he knew her, that she wasn't just random. That this was all carefully calculated almost down to the tee. But when she **SPOILER!!!** gets bitten by a snake (more like a knick but whatever) and he doesn't have the right means to treat the venom that's quickly spreading through her body, then he has no choice but to drive her to the nearest hospital and give himself up to the authorities. For her. **END OF SPOILER!!**

That's the part that I fell in love with Ty. Such a nice name too. For him to just give up everything for her, because of how much he loved her. That plucked at my heart strings and produced such a beautiful melody that I honestly couldn't help but cry. I had to put the book down and get frickin' kleenex for God's sake. But that just showed how all that build-up between the two of them wasn't for nothing. I just wish it had all ended differently...

I wish there was a sequel. It sounds silly, mostly because I wouldn't expect it to be another letter. Just the story of the two of them after everything went down. Does anything work out the way we wanted it to? We all fell in love with Ty, probably even before Gemma did. You wanted them to be together. All I can say is, stupid snake. It would have been one thing or another that eventually tore them apart, but after all he did for her I just couldn't handle the ending.

This was a difficult read. Not for the younger teens, that's for sure. But if you enjoy a love story hidden beneath some serious issues, then this is your kinda book. I think every teen girl should read this at some point though. It's too beautiful to ignore. ...more
