I found myself getting a little annoyed with parts of this book but in the end I wound up really enjoying it. It's the story of a death row inmate who wants to donate his heart to the sister of his victim. As usual Picoult raises some pretty heavy moral issues and definitely makes you think.

It pains me to say this, but I didn't love this book. I was so looking forward to reading Picoult's thoroughly researched analysis of the death penalty. That aspect of the plot did not disappoint. The issue was well developed and the characters were, as always, multi-dimensional and believable. The death penalty was analyzed from a variety of viewpoints- religious, victim, guilty party, ACLU lawyer. But, Picoult muddied the water with her "miracle man" who turned water into wine, brought birds b

WOW! Jodi Picoult's books always intigue me and make my mind shift, and this book was no exception.
Told from four different viewpoints, this story makes you examine your thoughts on the death penalty and religion.
One voice is that of June Nealon, whose husband, police officer Kurt Nealon, and daughter by a previous marriage, Elizabeth, were brutally murdered one day as June, 7 months pregnant, was at an OB appointment.

Jodi Picoult always come through with some zingers! This one was no different.
If you or your family member needed a heart transplant, would you take the heart of a murderer on death row?
This is the descision the mother in this book has to make. However, it is made more difficult by the fact this murderer killed her husband and first born daughter.

Was a really good book. Was hooked from the beginning to end. I do have to agree with other reviewers that this novel is similar to The Green Mile. There are many similarities. I would like to have seen Shay Bourne's POV in this one since he was a main character and the story revolved around him. Compared to "Faith", I like this religious based story better.

I loved this book. It was very thought prevoking and at one point I couldn't put it down. Just when you think you've learned everything there is to know about the characters and there lives, another layer is revealed to them. I learned so much about religion, the death penalty, and transplantation.

As like all of her books, I really enjoyed reading this book; however, I was able to figure things out before reading the end. Given that, I enjoy Picoult's style of writing, and had a hard time putting this book down.
