This was one of the best books I've ever read. I listened to it on CD actually and I know part of why I enjoyed it was the great actress' voice and animations. The story line was fantastic. It was so good to read something like this that depicted the good, bad and the ugly of having a first child, pregnancy, nursing, how marriage is sometimes affected by babies coming into the picture, complications of relationships and past histories, etc. SUCH a great read! This book is for any woman who has felt overwhelmed by motherhood and life. Some of Paige's experiences sent me back to those moments holding my first baby--crying on the couch--waiting for the world to come crumbling down. I have such strong memories of that fear and the feeling of being so overwhelmed that I just wanted to not exist. Picoult hit the nail on the head with this poignant story of motherhood.

This is one of Jodi's earlier books; it's good but it doesn't have the courtroom drama that I've come to love in her more recent books. In the end I found myself disagreeing with Nicholas and hoping the end turned out happy.

Not my most favourite Jodi Picoult novel. It wasn't even a bad story. It just seemed so anti-climactic in comparison to all her more recent novels. I also found most of the characters unlikeable and unredeemable.
