This book did not grab from the first sentence as most Picoult books have a way of doing. But it became an emotional roller coaster. It is the story of a family whose lives are turned upside down by the rape of the young daughter. Jodi Picoult's use of multiple narrators helps to sustain the ramifications of the act for all the characters. Her development of sub-plots that make the characters more "average" and hence, more believeable, also serve to help the reader better undertand the motivati

This book was absolutely amazing!! It was written differently than Jodi's usual books where it is in multiple perspectives. This book only had one perspective. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and the plot took many unexpected twists and turns. The moment I thought I had a grasp on what was happening, something would happen that had me headed in a whole different direction. This was an excellent book and is one to not be missed.

OK, now I'm hooked. It is just starting to get good. It is pretty emotional. I had to put it down the other day because I felt so bad for the main character. I love how Jodi writes from everyone's perspective! What is really different about this book is the inserted comic book pages written and illustrated by one of the characters. It's a story within a story but it's still the same story (get it?) because it reflects his life...I'm anxious to finish it.

I really liked this - the relationship between a troubled high school girl who has had her first heartbreak and her father, a stay-at-home dad with a lot of demons, and a mother with her own secret. How the family sticks together during some pretty difficult traumas and what they do for each other. I didn't find it to be too believable, but it was nice to get lost in.

Very thought-provoking, as is most of Picoult's many books. It really illustrates that there are many different takes on the same event.
I enjoyed the cartoon illustrations, although my partner does not like them at all. They are appropriate to the book, however, as one of the main characters is a cartoonist, and these are "his" work.

The beginning was slow. Then I got really into it in the middle. Then the end didn't do it for me. I predicted the ending halfway through the book, which is always a downer for me. I found the message in the comics to be interesting. But this really isn't Picoult's best, in my opinion.

This book was good, but was not a page turner like My Sister's Keeper, and The Plain Truth.
