What Members Thought
I was really surprised by this story. The beginning was hard to follow, there are a lot of characters and it is hard to keep them straight. I was also not a fan of the narrators voice, all of the characters sounded like old men. Once I got about a third of the way into the story however I was hooked. Ultimately one of my favorite Picoult novels, has mystery, heartbreak, romance, loss, forgiveness and finding ones self all in one.
This book was a look into the world of the supernatural. Not a scary look where these spirits are out to get you, but rather a world where these spirits have some unfinished business. They are trying to get attention through a variety of unique ways. The story examines characters from the present and their ties to characters and events from the past. As usual, Picoult flows flawlessly between the then and now. Picoult also once again proves that everything is not always as it seems.
I didn't like this as much as some of Jodi Picoult's books. The 'ghost' thing doesn't quite do it for me.
