At first, i didn't think that i would enjoy this book because it had to do with indian burial grounds, and that doesn't interest me. But the more i got into it, i really enjoyed it. Ross and Lia's characters really drew my attention in, as a reader you can sympathize with them. Anyone who was apprehensive to read this one, take the chance and pick it up. I'm glad that i did. ...more

You definitely have to have an open mind when reading this book. It covers a lot of ideas about ghosts and strange things happening with no explanations. And when I mean strange I mean things like rose petals falling from the sky and freezing temperatures in the middle of the summer. I really liked how this book got into Native American history and eugenitics and that it was set in Vermont because that's where I'm from. It was different from a lot of Picoult's books in that it didn't involve the ...more

Picoult is fun reading, but even in a ghost story she manages to raise issues that will get you thinking. The hot topic in this book is genetic engineering, interwoven with life-after-death, love, and the true nature of family, among other ideas. I enjoyed it.

I had a really hard time getting into this book. There are so many characters that it is really hard to keep them all straight in the beginning. About half way through the book I had figured out all but one of the numerous "twists" that came at the end. I feel like it could have been shorter and still told the whole story. Overall, not my favorite from Picoult. ...more

This was one of my favorite Jodi Picoult books ever. I loved the layers of story and how they meshed together to make such a rich and engaging book.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved how throughout the book I was constantly questioning my own beleifs on fate and finding your soul mate. I also enjoyed learning about Vermont and the Eugenics society that existed only 70 years ago and the extremes they went to for the "betterment of society." I think this is my second favorite book only to The Pact! ...more

This was a great read! I loved how all the characters (past and present) were interconnected, it made for an intriguing story and a rollorcoaster of an ending!

Because of the paranormal element this book may not be for all Picoult fans, but I loved that part of it!

I would definitely recommend this book!
