This book is about a small vermont town who starts having strange paranormal events occuring from what tehy believe is the cause of development on Native American burial ground. It sparks a seventy year old suicide/and or murder cold case to be reopened. Meanwhile there is this ghost hunter Ross, who has spent 10 years looking for teh ghost of his lost fiancee. He finds a new love in this search, but she isn't exactly what he thinks she is.

Its definately not my favorite Picoult book.If you like reading about paranormal stuff than pick this book up. Otherwise its not for you.Which is part of the reason I again was unable to finish it.
I liked the interweaving of the present with the past. It also reminded me of how so much of history isn't mentioned.

took awhile to get started, and there were a lot of charachters to keep track of, but it got really good halfway through.
