This book is brilliant. This is my first Jodi Picoult reading and i'm hooked on her style of writing. To start with I was a little confused with her chopping and changing of characters but it didn't take long before i was engrossed in this mystery. Quite disturbing in areas and overly graphic but i think she wants meant for this. Definitely a thought provoking novel that challenges your own belief system and family morals. ...more

This is the first book that I read of Jodi Picoult and I was really impressed by her writing styles and the detailed stuff in this book. The describtion of the character and the incident were very real. I was still thinking about Chris and Emily even after i have read the book.
It was really a page turner, truly engrossing and engaging and it really touched my heart. It was really a tragic love story. my heart goes out to both Chris and Emily..for the pain that they both endured....

*SPOILER*I just finished this book, as in just now. I am so excited! I am really bad about reading ahead, and I thought I had it all figured out, but Jodi always surprises me. I just did not expect what was said when Chris took the stand. I just so wished it hadn't happened. I wish Emily was alive, but where would we be then? I did some what hope for a reason as to why she wanted to kill herself. I was expecting more form the Creeper, though I did have him pegged as a creeper the first time she ...more
