Emily and Chris have been best friends since they were born. The golds and the hartes were best friends and when Emily an Chris started dating their parents could not have been happier. Emily on the other hand cannot say the same. After being sexually assaulted when she was little she finds herself not completely comfortable with sex. She loves Chris but she also feels like it is wrong, she had thought of him as her brother for so long but to then be in a sexual relationship with him felt wrong.

This is the first book that I read of Jodi Picoult and I was really impressed by her writing styles and the detailed stuff in this book. The describtion of the character and the incident were very real. I was still thinking about Chris and Emily even after i have read the book.
It was really a page turner, truly engrossing and engaging and it really touched my heart. It was really a tragic love story. my heart goes out to both Chris and Emily..for the pain that they both endured....

The Pact: A Love Story was a wonderful book. It really pulled me in and I couldn't stop reading. This has to be one of the greatest and saddest love stories of all time in my opinion. This was probably my favorite book by Jodi Picoult.

This book was awesome. It made me wish I had a best guy friend growing up that I could share the same things with. A book to read, definitely.
One of the only books by Picoult that I could not finish.... seemed to drag on forever... moving on to a new Picoult.
