This was a wonderful and intensely emotional book. Jodi, yet again, master the art of taking difficult and debative issues in society and creating a story from it. My least favorite character in this book was Melanie, Emily's mother. I'm not gonna say why because it will spoil it for those who haven't read the book yet. But you will know it when you get to that part of the book. The epilogue broke my heart. :( Awesome book overall. My new favorite Picoult book.

This was the first book I ever read by Jodi Picoult. A teenage couple make a suicide pact but only the girl dies and the boy is put on trial. The kids grew up together as their parents are best friends so the book is also about the family's response. The only issue I had with the book was the fact that what the girl went through that supposedly lead to her being suicidal seemed kind of minor to me, but who am I to judge I guess.

This was the first Jodi Picoult book I read, and its been several years so I thought I'd give it another go. So far, it's been just as engrossing as it was the first time!
