Dear God, never let me be put in the situation this family was! Only Picoult could cover the topic of medical emancipation and stem sickle research like this. Thank goodness today was a lazy Sunday! ...more

Jodi Picoult's books are unmatched in my opinion. She is such an amazing author. You genuinely care about her characters and want to see what happens to them. This was my first Jodi Piccoult novel. I love how she takes a difficult topic and makes you literally feel both sides of the story. In this one she also writes from multiple characters giving you even more perspectives on the whole issue. When I finish a Jodi Piccoult novel I always have a strong reaction. I am re-reading this beause I can't remember all the details and I am barely into it and can't wait to kee re-reading.

She does a great job of keeping a reader in check. Just when you think you have made a decision about the controversial issue presented, she gives you a different perspective. I read this one virtually from start to finish in one sitting.

Very good, at times hard to read as a parent since it deals with an ill child.
