Not my favorite Jodi Picoult. This one was hard to read, not so much for the subject matter (which was, of course, difficult), but because I could not get into the Ania/Aleks story that Minka wrote at all. I also hated the character Rocco from the bakery who talked only in iambic pentameter. Small details, but enough to annoy me.
That being said, I did like the story line and I thought the ending was pretty good.

Picoult's formula had always seemed predictable. The Storyteller, however, threw me for a loop that I thought I saw coming, was diverted from, and then learned in the last two pages I had known all along who Josef was.
The book is much more graphic and bloody than I was used to reading. However, it was necessary to make the two other stories within the story work.
