Shelves: novel, ya-juvenile, fantasy-sf, dystopian

An apocalyptic novel about the End of the World As We Know It. In this case, it's an alien invasion of Earth. The book focuses mostly on several teenagers and their experiences through the initial stages of the attack and its aftermath. This book leaves many questions unanswered, leaving me feeling as if the aliens' strategy might not really make any sense, and was designed only to allow for a cast of strong teenage characters with little human adult supervision. Books usually better than the movie...

And this one is no exception, I do have to say that they did really keep the movie very close to the book.

Shelves: dystopian

I'm not particularly into sci-fi however, I did enjoy this book. Easy reading, suspenseful, with a fierce young cast of characters, and plenty of scrapes for them to get themselves out of. ...more
