Wow, this is totally different from the Temeraire series. If you like Robin McKinley, I think you will really enjoy this book about wizards.

In itself a strong novel with a very complex magical system and rather dark developments. And I can imagine some will love this one. Just do not think I would re-read though; personally prefer somewhat lighter fantasy.

This beautifully written book features a strong, sensitive, yet self-reliant female character. That’s all I have to say.
