If you had described this book to me I would have been apprehensive. A cyborg version of Cinderella where people live on the moon? I love science fiction and I'm getting into YA a lot more but I don't read a lot of hard scifi with cyborgs and androids and spaceships. However I loved it.
The Cinderella story is kept to but not in a way that makes the story predictable at all. I'm sure I'll reread this one day and find all kinds of nods to the original that I missed the first time. This book's a ke ...more

A sort of retelling of Cinderella like you've never read. I couldn't stop listening to the audiobook until late into the night, and had to force myself to go to sleep and finish it in the morning.
Cinder is a spitfire, sassy and sarcastic and willing to fight back when the situation calls for it. Iko was a darling and Peony was a sweetheart. Stepmother Adri and stepsister Pearl are appropriately awful throughout the whole book. Prince Kai is charming and very likeable, but needs to learn more tac ...more

I’ve been obsessed with a book and had to simply write a review about Cinder by Marissa Meyer. There’s been a huge hype about it a few years ago and I finally caught up on it after I had some thoughts about it. Because if something gets too hyped, I automatically hate it. Don’t ask me why, I simply do not know it myself. And since I put this book on my Popsugar Reading Challenge list, I kind of had to read it. It was worth it is all I can say now.

I adored Cinder. I felt that we could understand her from early on and the prince seems likeable enough. I caught on early enough who Cinder really was which I feel lets down the big reveal or maybe we were supposed to know...

Took me a little while to read, but I gave it a chance finally. Very enjoyable, fun, intergalactic twist on Cinderella. I've always loved that character. I'm excited to get book 2 and see how the story continues
