Jan 2023 reread review: God, I love this book. It always stands up to rereads.
Original review: Five stars. Five freaking stars. So I'd been told that this book was good, but no one actually told me just how unbelievably absorbing and fantastic this book was. Why was this book just sitting on my shelf for EIGHT MONTHS? All that lost time when I could have been loving this book/series...

Damn, I love this book. I have no words. This was a re-read, but this time I checked out the audiobook and I have to say it's one of the best audiobooks I've ever listened to.

I am trying to be cautious about giving 5 stars to a book, but I just have to give this one a "perfect" score. It took me awhile to get used to the format of the book and the different types of reading that I had to do. Once I got used to it, I was sucked in to the story. Kady is an amazing, kick-butt character! I can't wait to share this with my students tomorrow. I hope I can find a few who will give it a try!

First this is not a book I would have ever chosen myself - so thank you Kara for encouraging me to read it.
I really enjoyed this story and am so impressed that the author was able to tell keep me reading when using emails, memos, etc. to tell the story. Also, I was surprised by the character development of Aidan, who was an inorganic, technological being.

2015 READING CHALLENGE: A book set in the future.
Okay, I know I've given a lot of books on here 5 stars, and some of them may not deserve them, but this one really should get 6/5 stars. It was so freaking good. I can't even begin to describe how much I love this book. I cried roughly fifteen different times (yes, I kept count) over this book and holy moly those tears were 100% heartfelt. And I think if I started talking about this book, I'd start crying again.

This book is engaging and unique. We see the story unfold through files and transcripts. Just when you think you have it figured out a probable comes in and steers you another way.
The love story is the epicenter to the plot but not the focus. We see just enough to invest in the characters and their relationship but there is no point in dwelling on what is or is not.
The science and technology is realistic and keeps you focused on the points of focus. Too many science fiction books have plot holes ...more
