This is one of the best books I have read in ages. Although it needs no help from me, I will be pushing A Man Called Ove on all my friends. I genuinely can't think of any person who wouldn't like it. I laughed out loud so many times throughout the book. I also cried more than I expected. I found myself seeking out my husband to read him passages from the book that I thought were hilarious. Even he, who knew nothing about the book laughed at the passages. I guess the best way to describe it would

I loved this. It’s a beautiful story of someone who was lost, who gave up hope, and who found his purpose in life again and his ability to love and accept love. I think some of the negative reviewers are missing the point - Ove is not supposed to be an extremely likeable character. He is misunderstood and comes off bitter, when really he is just old school, very matter of fact & broken (much like the cat). He suffered a lot of loss in life so he becomes disgruntled but clearly that is not who he

I really enjoyed this book..for everyone that has that neighbor, you know, the older guy that you just don't understand...we have one in our neighborhood...this book may give you insight into him; Or you may see your grandfather in Ove.

I highly recommend this book. It wasn't a page turner for me, but I loved the characters and wanted to know what was going to happen to them.

Fantastic! So beautiful, sad, funny and tragic all at the same time! I laughed out loud and few books move me to tears, but this one did!
Backman is very talented in describing in a short but accurate way so that you immediately know what is being described.
Ove is a man we've all met. He seems like a complete bastard, but deep down he has a big heart, he just lacks social skills.

Reading this elegantly crafted work was an extremely humbling experience. The book had a strong warm feeling of the good old days and the simplicity of life. The old-school"tough love" was a refreshing change and left a lingering feeling of compassion and gratitude. I kind of feel like we all have an 'Ove' in us.

Loved the book! Started off a little slow but once I got into it, I didn't want to put the book down. A funny but moving book which left me with tears in my eyes at the end.

I'm only giving it 3 stars instead of 2 because it made me cry at the end, but I don't really get the massive gushing over it. it was good, but not amazing.
