The author did such an amazing job of balancing the story of the research with the story of Henrietta and her family in a tasteful and respectful way. I learned so much about the science but I also found myself with the drama that unfolded as the author dug deeper and in her interactions with the family.

What a wild journey to discover what HeLa cells are, where they came from and how unethical scientists have been in their pursuit of discovery and cures! Worth reading! It's amazing how far science had come in 60 years and equally shocking to learn of the disregard for human subjects, their pain and their families.
