When first told about this book I thought it sounded fascinating & when I finally got around to reading it, it didn't disappoint! The author did a wonderful job of combining both the human and scientific elements of this amazing story. So many questions are raised concerning ethics and there really aren't any easy answers. The focus of this book is obviously the story of Henriette Lacks and her family, but the greatest theme is presenting the world with the tragedy of the lack of ethics in the U.S. medical community.
Could not put it down. Very well done! My heart broke for Deborah and all the suffering she went through. Was happy to learn that Zackirrya found peace.
Finished....Even better the second time around. A great book about science, fear, love and the determination to learn the truth.
