More of a novella really. It is a quaint read in the mindset of an innocent 9 year old. I can see why he wrote it like that, the boy's innocence highlights the atrocities of auschwitz and makes the twist at the end all the more shocking. It is important that young kids read about this and I applaud the author's ability to show this t young children in a way they can truly understand.
