Okay book. Someone gave it to me.
I'm finding it hard to write a review when I have nothing to criticize! This book is without a doubt, one of the best I've ever read and an obvious five-star rating from page one. Kidd's "The Secret Life of Bees" is nothing short of a brilliant and beautifully poetic time-machine, transporting all of my five senses onto the honey-scented South Carolina bee-farm of the Calender sisters, circa summer 1964, as they "adopt" a white adolescent runaway and her "fugitive" African-American housekeeper.
