This was a 3.5 that I rounded up as, in fairness, I couldn't put it down and read it in a day!

I can see why this book has been so successful, it is undeniably gripping. However, I think I spent more time distracted by how horrendous Rachel was than actually being "thrilled" by the crime itself - but perhaps that's part of what differentiates this book. I liked the way in which Hawkins weaved the three women together around the theme of motherhood, (view spoiler)

All in all, I think it wasn't as explosive a thriller as other ones I've read over the last year or so, but I definitely did enjoy it. It was just a shame that it was entertainment that once again capitalises on violence against women.

Shelves: psychological-suspense

OK. I don't know where to start with this one. The plot was OK but kinda predictable. And after some time boring. But then again, that's me. Read and decide for yourself. :)

The novel is told from three POVs- Rachel, Anna and Megan. The protagonist is Rachel and when you start reading the book, you'd be able to tell who the antagonist is pretty soon.
