This book, for me, is on my sliding scale of how angry I can possibly get when reading a book. The scale is from 1 'waking up and realising you've overslept, it's you're own fault because you knew you had to be up but still refused to go to sleep early and are therefore out of sorts for the rest of the day' to 10 'all encompassing, fists clenched, jaw tight, teeth grinding, red mist enveloping über rage'.
Therefore, my anger rating for this book is a good 3-3.5, the .5 only being added bec ...more

OK. I don't know where to start with this one. The plot was OK but kinda predictable. And after some time boring. But then again, that's me. Read and decide for yourself. :)
The novel is told from three POVs- Rachel, Anna and Megan. The protagonist is Rachel and when you start reading the book, you'd be able to tell who the antagonist is pretty soon. Anyway, it starts with Rachel looking out the train window at the people living near the tracks. Her overactive imagination makes her come up with ...more

I wholeheartedly agree with the reviewer that wrote, "all of the characters in this story are a 'hot mess'".
Some reviewers have made comparisons to 'Gone Girl', though whether book-based/movie-based/both-- I am unsure. While I've seen Gone Girl, the movie (and didn't care for it); I, however, DID enjoy this book.

The good about this book was that I really didn't see the ending coming until 200+ pages in, which is not always the case for books like this. It was a relatively quick read and I didn't get bored with it.
The bad is the characters. All of them. They are all pathetic, unlikable, annoying, and whiny. All of the characters are nuts and the voices of the narrators get old very fast.
