There have been two times I threw a book at a wall upon reading the last line - The first was for Gone Girl and the second was for this stinking pile of tripe. Good lord, was I reading a junked script for a Lifetime movie? The only good thing was that it was a quick read, mostly because there was nothing deep to linger on, no beautiful turn of phrase, no complexity of thought, not a shred of humor. A compelling read. Loved the use of the unreliable narrator, but unusual in the fact that the reader knows from the very beginning that Rachel is unreliable. Rachel is deeply flawed, but I found her sympathetic and endearing. Great twist, as all good mysteries should have...
My one complaint is that all the men in the book are horrible. They're all louts. There isn't a redeemable one in the bunch, sad to say. Speaks pretty poorly of the masculine gender. ...more

Read. This. Book. You'll love how the mystery unravels bit by bit as you try to figure out who is and isn't telling the truth. A compulsive read that sucks you all the way in and lives up to the hype.
