This was every bit as charming as I thought it would be. Anne's outlook on life is bright, even though she had a rough start in it. No matter what life throws at her, she never gives up her inner world and her positive outlook. This is the antidote for the cynical world we live in.

This was one of my daughter's favorite books when she was growing up, and interesting enough I have never read it until this week. It lives up to its hype, and I plan to read others in the series soon. It is a pleasure to read books from another time, with admirable characters, and simple pleasures.

What a lovely book with beautiful writing and wonderful characters. The descriptions of nature are gorgeous. Anne is the quintessential girl, just like Huck Finn. Perfection.

I never read this series as a child, but have seen several TV shows of the series. It is a quite enjoyable children's series.
