I don't know what I was expecting for sure, but the title did lead me to believe that I would be doing more crying than laughing. I was wrong.
Yes the book has a dying girl, and that part is sad, but Greg is so funny throughout that I found myself laughing out loud a numerous occasions.
Neither of these 3 people were really friends in my opinion, but I guess they were as close as they could be. Greg himself referred to Earl as more of a colleague and he didn't start being frie ...more

This book was just OK for me. It would probably appeal to teenage boys, but it definitely rides the PG-13/R-rating line with so much language. As I was reading, I just kept comparing Greg, the main character, to any given John Green character, and it just couldn't match up. I felt like it was trying to be a John Green novel, and there is no way it could be. I think I would have liked the story much better from Rachel's (the dying girl) point of view. It was hilarious and really interesting book to read.. It was really good and it just kept me hooked.
