So moved by this book. I listened to the audio, read by the author. As Genova did for autism in Love, Anthony, this story is the best explanation of Alzheimer's disease that I have read, and does much to create an understanding of what could be going on in the mind of someone experiencing it.

I loved this book. It is a beautifully written story of a woman's journey with early onset Alzheimer's disease. My grandmother had Alzheimer's disease and this was an interesting and heart wrenching read for me. I was struck by the times we got often got frustrated with my grandmother when she would repeatedly ask the same questions over and over again. This was both a heartbreaking and heartwarming story. If you've had a family memory deal with dementia, this could be hard to read at times. It made me cry but Alice was such a strong, inspiring character, even when you saw her slipping away from her own perspective. I'll be thinking about this one (and my own loved ones lost to Alzheimer's) for a while to come.

One of the selections from my local book club, and one of my favourite reads of all time. I adored this book beyond measure; having lived the agony of loving someone who suffered from alzheimer's disease, this take, from the inside of the wall that it creates, struck me in the heart and didn't let go.

This book took me two days to read--I couldn't put it down! It was well written and engaging, and, of course, heartbreaking. After reading the book, I'm not sure I'd want to see the movie, but I'm sure glad I read the book.
