Holy crap it was BRILLIANT! I am starting to really rate Liane Moriarty, she has incredible skill at characterisation and plot twists! I was absolutely gripped by this book and could not put it down - THE ENDING! I won't spoil. I had a vague idea of the direction, but the finer details came from out of nowhere, an absolutely explosive finish!

Cinematic writing (no surprises there since it's being made into a tv show) but unnecessarily long. It seemed like an endless loop of very pretty people sniping at each other with some undertones of more complex issues but honestly, we could've gotten to the ending much faster. Most books begin on the second chapter but this can easily begin more than half way through. The characters are well rendered, unapologetic about their superficial lives and problems but ultimately make you want to sit up
