I really did enjoy this book, even though I felt conflicting feelings towards Theo. He is a character that you want to relate to and then realise how troubled he is and it makes your heart break. As someone who knows people with depression and had a friend that commit suicide only a couple of years ago, I respect the author showing this side of mental health.

As is the case with all books, my reading this was to see how appropriate it would be for my students at my school. I ultimately decided that I would wait and see if other junior highs put it in their collection because there is a rather intimate scene in the book that might not really work for this age group. This book is so amazing I listened to the whole audiobook in one day, something I very rarely do. I had heard so much about this book, and it lives up to its expectations. An honest look at mental health and is an essential read for anyone who struggles with or has a loved one with a mental illness. The characters are both heartbreaking in their own light and the author does a great job at breaking the reader's heart and stitching the brokenness up in the end. I wish I had this book in high scho
