Well, this is quite the book. Kept me so interested I read it in about four days. Now, need to see the movie.

A good book about a great man. I thought that his wife's comments throughout the book were a little distracting. When they were talking about their relationship, it was fine, but at other times I thought it took away from the story. Still a good story. Tragic ending to his life by a fellow vetren he was trying to help who had PTSD.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, I am really not a reader of non-fiction, however someone recommended it to me so I decided to chance it. The first couple chapters I was ready to stop reading it, but I didn't I kept going. It was very hard to read this book because it was not very well written. A lot of times, the author got so bogged down in the minutia of detail that it made the battle scenes seem boring (when I'm sure that they were anything but). I don't think Kyle should have written the book at all but he could have at least hired better writers to tell the story.

I don't think i would have much liked to meet Chris Kyle. We have different beliefs about the military and different values all together. I'm sure

I have been wanting to watch this movie but always prefer to read the book first. I have a tremendous amount of respect for our military and am thankful for their service. This book details the sacrifices military families make and the internal conflict between serving their country and wanting to spend time with their families. I liked that the book had passages from Taya interspersed so you could see her perspective too. I'm not sure I could've been as strong as Taya in the same situation. ...more
