Shelves: would-read-again, read-2016, fiction, neurodiverse

I've not read many of the "classics" so I tend to avoid each one, feeling slightly intimidated that the language will be too intellectual; that I'll be bored and then feel annoyed for not being smart enough to enjoy it.

The fact that this book is only 120 pages persuaded me to give it a try, but I really didn't expect to love it so much, let alone to find myself in a café trying to hide the tears that were streaming down my face!

This is one of my all time favorites - I really think it is the first book I read where I was truly shocked. It is fun to get to talk about with students.

I know I should probably give this more stars but I'm struggling to give it 2 to be honest.

I didn't like it, I know that it's a 'classic' and a 'must read' but I don't see why, maybe I just didn't understand it, maybe it's because I wasn't affected by the end of the book, maybe I'm just a horrible person. I just didn't like it. At least I know that now. ...more
