Entertaining, but not perfect

I genuinely liked this book. I chose it because I like all things set in Italy. Though much of the book was not, the imagery when there was fulfilling. One thing that really stuck out for me was some great quotations about life that were scattered throughout like moments of poetry in an otherwise fairly morose story. I had a little trouble getting into this book. I'm not sure when I decided that I liked the book, but I figured out that my issue early in the book was that I didn't connect with any of the story lines. If you have that issue - keep reading, the separate story lines come together. ...more
