I went into this book thinking it would be a quick read, a deeper/better explained source for the 1997 movie. For the most part, my expectations were blown away. Allegations of militarism and facisim aside, i believe heinlein was doing what all great writers do, get people to THINK. A lot has been written about this one, and I’ve re-read it as an adult, trying to remember what I made of it as a teen in year where I read over 150 novels and you know, had teen shit going on. Suffice to say I think I missed some of the nuances.
