Just finished the audio version of this 1959 classic. If you liked the film, you WILL like the book- in fact, they are so similar, it's as if Hitchcock just used the novel as a screenplay! The only differences being: the book doesn't feature a section of the story devoted to Mary (Marion, in the film)'s POV. It's allllll Norman here. And Mother. Also, the character of Sam is a bit of a weenie, with Mary's sister being the one who 'takes charge' after Mary goes missing. The author did a great job

Okay... so this was a fun read for Halloween. I had just watched Alfred Hitchcock's movie version and decided to download the ebook from my local library. I was curious to see how closely Hitchcock followed the book. Other than the character of Norman Bates not resembling Anthony Perkins in the slightest, Hitchcock was very faithful to the book... even including a lot of Bloch's dialogue. I really enjoyed the book because it delved more into the psychology of Norman Bates and his inner dialogue.
