Clumsily written, without range or subtlety, characterization non-existent. All revolutionaries are wonderful young people, all those who oppose them are untrustworthy and ugly. Pretty obvious and boring because of it.

Read this in college, a hundred years ago. Want to read a great little story about a family that will totally convince you that communism is the correct way to go? This is it. What a terrific piece of propoganda. Its an enjoyable book.
