Wow! The Dragon In The Sea has to be one of the best books I've read in quite some time. Written in 1956 in the middle of the Cold War and the paranoia that was part and parcel of that mind-set, this novel covered it all with a clear and quite sane, at least to me, point of view. For a novel about war, surprisingly there was little to no combat scenes.
