Honestly, truly (and also not at all meant to be a criticism in any manner), Afred Döblin's 1929 urban novel Berlin Alexanderplatz is totally, is absolutely (but also by thematic necessity) often so intensely and brutally horrifying that generally and from page one on, Berlin Alexanderplatz as a story tends to read and to both externally and internally feel almost like a very much deliberate and also specifically by the author calculated massive textual assault on anything even remotely pleasura

A buddy reading with Chrissie and Gundula, starting 1st January 2023.
Un po' troppo lungo e noioso, oltretutto il personaggio principale, della cui ascesa e successiva caduta so ormai tutto, non mi stava simpatico. Particolare invece il modo che ha l'autore di raccontare "l'intorno" con Berlino e tutto quello che vi accadeva nel 1928, basterebbe quello per renderlo degno di essere letto.
