Another modern classic, that I studied in sixth form college. I wrote a comparative paper of the minor characters in this and in A Clockwork Orange. I still remember loving writing that essay. Nurse Ratched is the first character in all of literature that I had a visceral hatred for. I found her infuriating to read, every action, every line of dialogue was so patronizing, so imprisoning, and so self assured.
