Except for the fact that everytime I saw the cover of this book, a 1950's recording of the Christmas carol of the same name would start in my head, this was a very enjoyable book. Clearly a lot of religious/biblical references here, many of which went above my head, since I'm not much of a churchgoer. Baldwin's portrayal of the church was, I think, pretty fair.
