Nothing else I have read has brought to life the Old West like McMurtry's Lonesome Dove! I could practically taste the steak and beans cooked on the campfire. I could see the herds of buffalo. I could feel the sting of the dust on my face. I live in Colorado and all around me is the evidence of life in this era so the book made my home more intriguing.

What a great book! Larry McMurtry entrenches you in the story. You'll fall in love with all the characters and will feel like you're a part of the epic journey from Lonesome Dove. Don't let the size of the book fool you; you won't want to put it down and you won't want it to end. Enjoy.
